How Patriotic Are You?
I was watching the presidential elect campaign debates the other night on television and Obama had a very interesting point. He was questions as to why he did not wear an American flag pin on his lapel. He mentioned that while of course he is extremely patriotic, the thought of him cashing in on cheap decorative flags and have to wear them was against his personal message that he would like to send. I thought that was a fantastic point and although I like the idea of solidarity through showing your flags and pins, I think that sometimes we get a bit carried away.
